It was quiet that night. The creatures tucked themselves away after the sun went down. There was no cricket song, no cicada ring. Even the trees did not stir. Still the fire crackled, and a figure sat alone. The human outcry from earlier still echoed. It seemed, more than ever, a time to listen. Then from beyond the veil, deep within the still of silence, a melody unfolded. Human ears, sharpened by grief, were finally ready to hear. The song was a lament, but still somehow brought relief. It was an anthem of awareness, sent to awaken.
